The biggest brand on Google+ isn’t Coca-Cola or Disney or Starbucks, the top three on Facebook. It isn’t even Google itself. Since Google opened up its social media platform to brands in November, the company that most users have added to their circles—530,000 and counting—is Swedish clothing chain H&M.
But then they heard the data. Every day, Facebook enables over 150 million interactions between businesses and users. The News Feed is responsible for over one billion impressions per day. And according to the company, in the new Premium model, when an ad shows up in a users News Feed similar to the latest ad initiative from Twitter, that user is five to ten times more likely to click it.

Isn’t it curious that Google+ doesn’t actually show you any ads? It’s because the time-on-site and page views there are trivial. Hit the road, Jack. Don’t you ever come back and post an update, upload a photo, or add anyone to your Circles. It doesn’t matter. What’s important to Google is getting your biographical data.
Leaked documents show Facebook making a radical departure from traditional online display advertising into a world where ads are conversations and brands automatically tell you which of your friends are already on their side.
