Improving Usability with Fitts’ Law
Back in 1954, psychologist Paul Fitts published an article the detailed his theory on human mechanics as it pertained to aimed movement. It was Fitts’ observation that the action of pointing to or tapping an target object could be measured and predicted mathematically.
Fitts stated that the size of the target object along with its distance from the starting location could be directly measured, allowing him to model the ease at which a person could perform the same action with a different target object.

The 960 Grid System is an effort to streamline web development workflow by providing commonly used dimensions, based on a width of 960 pixels. There are two variants: 12 and 16 columns, which can be used separately or in tandem.
The GRID is da Bomb.. we all need to think about this when designing a site.

This could be interesting. Meta Watch.. connecting your phone to your watch. I WANT ONE!!!!
Fantastic concept. The watches themselves aren’t as unattractive as I thought they might be. $200 for developers only… hmm.
I love looking at traditional media for interactive inspiration. Outdoor is always great because of the way they utilize the space.

Google Music to stream 20,000 songs for free, launches at I/O later today — Engadget.
Will this kill Amazon Cloud Player? The key feature to this is the “free” part.. so yes… I think I’ll be moving over to Google Music.
but still no iOS device support. i know it’s apple’s fault for making things difficult, but the reality is that there are > 180MM iOS devices in use. The iOS base is about 37.9 million and the Android installed base is 23.8 million. (I did a very cursory search for these numbers, but I think the point holds). I just hate the war. Why cant we all just get along? I finally completely regret purchasing iOS devices.
yeah.. they said it’s coming soon though.. so we’ll see who gets it out first might win this one.
