The dangers of cross-browser testing with IE9′s Browser Modes

It’s 2013; we’ve come a long way. But there are no jetpacks yet, and we still have to test websites in older versions of Internet Explorer. While many of you probably haven’t had to open IE6 in a while, IE7 and IE8 are still with us. At Typekit, we still test our web fonts in all three (along with all the other major browsers), but today we wanted to discuss a potential testing pitfall that some of our customers encounter.

The importance of QA and simple proofreading

My sister found this at the store this weekend. McCormick Spices – a company I would regard as large – had a misspelling of one of their own products on the label. How does the title of the product go into production and onto the shelves misspelled? Even if there are multiple ways (and in this case I dont think there are), if the item is your product you should have a universal way of spelling it.

How does a company let this happen?

I then went to their website and found “Tumeric” in a few spots. I know it’s nit-picky but I find it frustrating and it should be embarrassing for them.
